Privacy Policy

KoreanRead is a reference site. There is no account to create, no form to fill in and nothing to buy. The short version: we cannot identify you, and the only thing we measure is which pages get read.

Who publishes this site

KoreanRead is published by Everstone Co., Ltd., a software studio in South Korea. For anything on this page, write to evstbiz@evst.co.kr.

What this site does not do

No sign-up, no login, no user accounts.
No input fields. There is nothing on this site to type into, so nothing you write can reach us through it.
No payments, and no advertising network.
No comments, uploads or user submissions of any kind.

What is collected

Google Analytics

We run Google Analytics 4 to see which pages people actually read. It sets identifiers in your browser and reports the pages you visit, a coarse location derived from your IP address, your device and browser, and the page that referred you. We read it in aggregate — we do not attempt to identify anyone, and we have not linked it to advertising products.

You can stop it. Google publishes an opt-out browser add-on, and any content blocker that blocks googletagmanager.com is equally effective. Nothing on this site stops working if you block it.

Hosting logs

The site is served by Vercel, which keeps ordinary request logs — IP address, user agent, the path requested, the time — to run and protect the service. We do not use those logs for analytics.

What stays on your device

Quiz scores, which letters you have opened, and how many times the app notice has been shown are kept in your browser’s local storage under a single key, koreanread.v1. That data is never sent anywhere. Clearing site data for this domain removes it, and it does not follow you to another browser or device.

Who else receives data

Google (Analytics) and Vercel (hosting), and no one else. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising. The audio files and every page are served from this domain, so browsing the site does not pull resources from third-party hosts.

Do Not Track

We do not currently change what we measure in response to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals. Blocking the analytics script, as described above, is what actually works — so we would rather say this plainly than imply a control we have not built.

Children

This is a language reference with no account system. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included, because the site provides no way to submit any.

The mobile app is separate

The companion app, Learn Korean — Hangul & Words, is a different product with its own account, purchase and notification features, and therefore its own policy. This page does not cover it. See the app privacy policy.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. There is no mailing list to notify, so that date is the honest signal.
